Catering Manager
Full-time, permanent role – closing date 31 March 2024

We are looking for an active Catering Manager to lead our busy and unique café and develop our second catering department. You will have experience of a high-volume catering or hospitality environment, be passionate about cooking and have previous experience in managing a catering team.

As the Catering Manager, you will ensure a smooth, efficient and commercially focused catering department. You will lead by example with a hands on presence in the department, as well as providing training support and offering guidance to our team to ensure they are always able to deliver brilliant customer service. You will oversee all day-to-day operations.

You are accountable for all aspects of stock, including but not limited to; stock taking, stock ordering, sales reports, profit margins and waste targets. You will implement new initiatives, products and recipes and maintain standards throughout the department ensuring exceptional food quality is delivered as well as contributing to the wider catering team.

You will be required to adhere to the company’s Health and Safety procedures and implement those procedures where necessary, and ensure compliance with health codes and regulations are up to date. Proven experience of working with the hospitality industry would be advantageous and significant experience of food and beverage best practice is essential.

This role is full-time and will include some weekend work and occasional evenings.

Salary is dependent on experience, but will be in the region of £30K with the potential to increase this based on performance.

Theatre Box Office Administrator
Full-time, permanent role

About the role…

We are looking for someone with fantastic customer service to offer a friendly and professional ticket booking service to our visitors for all our theatre performances and events. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a customer service role, experience of greeting customers in a friendly and welcoming manner and resolving customer interactions with a calm and confident approach. Candidates much have excellent communication skills both written and verbally (on the phone and in person) when engaging with customers. Accurate keyboard skills are essential as you will be working in Microsoft packages (word and outlook) and our box office system Ticketsolve (full training given). If this sounds like you, then we’d love to hear from you!

The role initially has a set working pattern of Tuesday – Saturday (with Sundays and Mondays off) but this may be flexible. Working hours for this role are scheduled around the Old Laundry Theatre programme (www.oldlaundrytheatre.co.uk) and does include some evenings.

Pay to be discussed at interview, but will be above minimum wage.

Finance Manager – part time, 2 days a week
Permanent role

The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction are seeking a Finance Manager to work on a part-time basis at the popular Bowness-on-Windermere Attraction. The position is office based, with a start date as soon as possible.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing financial information on a regular basis to the Directors and Manager of the companies
  • Supporting the overall financial health of the business
  • Providing budgets and forecasts as requested
  • Regular reporting for external agencies such as royalties and HMRC

In order to ensure accuracy of the information provided there are a number of regular activities carried out including reconciliation of balance sheet accounts; reconciliation between the two enterprises (Old Laundry Theatre & World of Beatrix Potter Attraction) and the manual input of data from other software into the finance package.

Knowledge of Xero and Access Gamma would be preferable, experience of Microsoft Office products is essential. Knowledge of payroll would be desirable. (Experience of the Tourism industry would be advantageous).

There is future scope within this role for the improvement and refinement of processes and software and both these are considered important by the company.

This role is part time and office based. Salary dependent on experience.
