We are open
In what has been very challenging weather over the last few days, the World of Beatrix Potter along with many other Lake District Attractions are open and welcoming visitors to the area. Currently the main roads to Windermere and Bowness are open and passable and many hotels and accommodation providers are operating as normal. Windermere Lake Cruises are currently offering circular non-landing cruises from Lakeside & Ambleside Pier, and plan to operate cruises from Bowness pier from Wednesday. Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway have been unaffected and will be operating their seasonal Santa Specials as advertised and the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is running as normal as are many other local Attractions. Further afield, Ullswater Steamers will not be operating cruises until the end of the week once routes and roads are fully cleared as some areas of the region are still in a recovery phase. Visitors are advised to check roads and accommodation plans before they travel.
The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction is warmly welcoming visitors to its winter wonderland with special winter offers in the Tea Room along with Tailor of Gloucester and Father Christmas parties in the run up to Christmas and also between Boxing Day and New Year. The Attraction is also offering free exhibition entry to local people with an LA postcode throughout December. See www.hop-skip-jump.com/locals.
