Explore the Attraction

There's so much to see at The World of Beatrix Potter™ Attraction.  Here you can explore the magical world a little more, by clicking on our interactive map.

Area 1: The World of Beatrix Potter™ Introduction Film

The Beatrix Potter™ experience begins with a four minute film presentation introducing visitors to the author and her stories and illustrations.  The doors from the film room open to welcome visitors to enter the main exhibition in which the sights and sounds of Beatrix Potter's celebrated characters are magically brought to life.

   

Area 2 : Jemima Puddle-duck's woodland glade and Mr Tod's underground home

The exhibition features 3D scenes from Beatrix Potter's stories, atmospheric lighting and real sounds and smells taking visitors right to the pages of her beautiful stories.  Step out from the film in to Jemima's woodland glade and through the trees to see Mr Tod in Tommy Brock's house and the pigs from The Tale of Pigling Bland.

   

Area 3. The Peter Rabbit™ Garden

The Peter Rabbit™ Garden is designed to capture the very essence of Beatrix Potter's world, from the cos lettuces that Benjamin Bunny nibbled on to the gooseberry bush where Peter got caught in a net as he tried to escape Mr. McGregor.  Don't forget to view the beautiful bronze sculpture which symbolises the inspiration Potter's books has given to generations of readers and depicts three children releasing the figure of Jemima Puddle-duck.

   

Area 4. Visit Mrs Tiggy-winkle's Kitchen

Back inside the exhibition follow the adventures of Squirrel Nutkin and Mrs. Tittlemouse and was as the drama unfolds in The Tale of Fierce Bad Rabbit.  Then pop in to Mrs Tiggy-winkle's kitchen and smell the fresh laundry.  A perfect photo opportunity for the little ones in the family!


   

Area 5.  Mr. Jeremy Fisher on his lily-pad boat

As you turn the corner there is lots more to see.  Find out what Johnny Town-mouse is up to in the countryside and discover Hunca Munca and Tom Thumb in their nursery under the floorboards!  Look out for Mr. Jeremy Fisher on his lily-pad boat.


   

Area 6. The Virtual Walk

A virtual walk of Beatrix Potter's beloved Cumbrian countryside.  Using computer projection, visitors take a journey of their choice to the places that inspired Miss Potter's work.  360-degree views and narration brings each scene to life.  Also view an 8 minute presentation called The Tale of Mrs Heelis and follow the interactive timeline which tells the fascinating story of the author's life.

   

Area 7: Mr McGregor's Greenhouse and The Tale of Peter Rabbit

Enter Mr McGregor's greenhouse, smell the tomatoes and discover what is lurking under the plant pots and seed trays.  Then step in to Peter Rabbit's beautiful sunlit garden and discover more about the adventures of Peter and his cousin Benjamin.

   

Area 8: The Beatrix Potter™ Shop

When you emerge from the wonderful World of Beatrix Potter™, don't miss a chance to visit the shop and take a little bit of Potter magic home with you.  The shop is a treasure trove of gifts inspired by Peter Rabbit and his friends.  Our fabulous nursery shop nearby also stocks a huge range of adorable baby gifts.  And if you have time, don't forget to pop in the Tea Room!

    When you emerge from the wonderful World of Beatrix Potter™, there's chance to take a little bit of Potter magic home with you.  You can shop online before you visit, or pop in our gift shop & Nursery shop in Bowness.
